We have been in existence since 1950.  The original membership consisted of AT&T and Mountain Bell employees from Operator Services and the Installation and Repair Departments.  Since that time we have gone through many changes including the addition of the Market Units of Mountain Bell in 1973 to the losses of membership through Centralization and downsizing of the telecommunications industry.  In 2000, we began organizing and merging in order to grow, retain strength, and to promote Union security.  We organized an IUE sector of this local through employees at Sikorsky (now L3-Vertex, M-1 Support Services and BellAero) and Tecom.  Print Professionals and Bare Bones were added as the Typographical Sector of CWA.  Finally, our Public Sector was added through a merger from the UNM, UNMH and TVI members.  We are always looking for new companies to organize because there is strength and solidarity through membership to fight for our fair share of the "American Dream".
